Educate Ourselves and Others
Blue Bin Group aims to educate our community, at Sage Hill and beyond, about sustainable and
effective recycling. To do so, Blue Bin has made a series of announcements and presentations at
school to promote the correct way to recycle and to ensure that items that are not recyclable or are
dirty do not make their way into recycling plants and disrupt the process.
We are also in the
process of creating a flier about recycling Do’s and Don'ts for the Newport Beach City Council to
send out to members of our larger community.
Killybrooke Elementary
At Killybrooke Elementary, we were committed to promoting sustainable habits by introducing
recycling bins and implementing a recycling program in collaboration with the teachers. We
recognized the importance of educating young minds on the significance of waste reduction and proper
waste management, and we took steps to make that happen.
By providing recycling bins throughout the
school and engaging teachers in the process, we were able to encourage students to recycle and
dispose of waste responsibly.
Our efforts aimed to create a culture of environmental stewardship and
inspire a sense of responsibility in the next generation to care for the planet.
